Rosalyn J. Sycamore

Rosalyn J. Sycamore, 56, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Saturday, February 21, 2015 at her home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rabbi David Nelson officiating.  Burial will follow at Waldheim Cemetery in Forest Park, Illinois.  Memorials may be made to Sarett Nature Center in Benton Harbor.  Those wishing to sign Rosalyn’s Memory Book may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Rosalyn was born January 12, 1959 in Chicago to Seymour & Happy “Irene” (McGuire) Sugarman.  She graduated from Main East High School in Park Ridge, Illinois in 1977 and earned an Associate’s Degree from Harper College in Palatine, Illinois.  Rosalyn was employed at Gethsemane Gardens in Chicago for many years.  She was a member of Temple B’nai Shalom in Benton Harbor, The ACLU and the Natural Resources Defense Council.  Rosalyn loved plants, animals and nature and was very interested in preserving our environment. Rosalyn is survived by her mother Happy Sugarman of Morton Grove, IL; her brother Max (Cindy) Sucherman of St. Joseph, MI & Morton Grove, IL; nieces & nephews-Maggie, Bonny, Sol  & Ben Sucherman & Charlie Thomas.  She was preceded in death by her father Seymour Sugarman, her brother David “Manny” Sucherman & her sister Georgia DiFonzo.
