Doris Louise Kasewurm

Doris Louise Fargh Kasewurm was born September 18th, 1924 to Svante Victor and Anna Daae Fargh in New London, Connecticut.  She was welcomed to her eternal rest on Wednesday, March 4th by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ-God’s only Son.  Doris was preceded in death by her parents, and by her loving husband Mayor Arthur Kasewurm of Stevensville, Michigan and all of her siblings.  She is survived by her sons Alfred (Kathy) Kasewurm of Stevensville, David (Gyl) Kasewurm, of St. Joseph, and by daughter Ruth (Rev. Wm.) Brege of Rogers City, Michigan and by daughter Linda (Rev. Thos.) Hausch of Boise, Idaho as well as twelve grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Doris spent her years investing in the lives of others and in the service of Jesus, being His hands and feet to the students of Christ Lutheran School as cook, Sunday School teacher, member of the Ladies Aid, and singing His praises in the choir at Christ Lutheran Church.  Doris also enjoyed serving at the local soup kitchen, and used her gift of hospitality to many in the local community. Many will fondly remember her for her work at the Penny Arcade at Silver Beach as she enjoyed enabling the pleasures of the clientele and mentoring her own children on the responsibilities of life at that venue.  Mom/grandma/great grandma will be sorely missed by her family in this life but celebrated at her eternal home. Viewing and visitation with the family will be held at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 8, 2015.  Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Avenue in Stevensville on Monday, March 9, 2015.
