Michael's Obituary

Michael Gene Mandarino, 34, of St. Joseph, passed away, Saturday, February 14, 2015 at his home.   A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M.  Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at St. Bernard’s Church, 555 East Delaware Ave., Benton Harbor with Father Bill officiating. Burial will take place at Hickory Bluff Cemetery, in Stevensville, on a later date. Friends may visit on Monday, February 16, from 5 PM until 8 PM at Starks and Menchinger Funeral home and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Jospeh. Memorial contributions may be made to The Alex Mandarino Foundation.  Those wishing to sign Mike’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.  Mike was born October 7, 1980 in St. Joseph to Don and Janice (Walsh) Mandarino. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1999. In high school he was a member of the cross country and state champion track teams. Later, Mike went on and graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2003 and the University of Michigan Law School in 2006. Mike liked to cook and enjoyed hiking and nature. He was known to his friends and family for his dry sense of humor and quick wit.  Mike is survived by his parents Don and Janice Mandarino; sister Karen Mandarino; uncles William Walsh and Scott (Robin) Mandarino; aunts Bonnie (Larry) Miller and Janet (Don) Zwar; many cousins and good friends.
