Everett's Obituary

Everett Leroy Schemenauer, 78, of Stevensville, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Lakeland Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.  Those wishing to sign Everett’s Memory Book may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com Everett was born March 5, 1936 in Bangor, Michigan, to Ester (Kozlik) and Bernard Schemenauer.  He married Linda Green on September 14, 1974 in Bridgman.  Everett had a long career driving truck for Barney’s Produce, Sam Bernstein Produce and Grand Rapids Motor Express eventually retiring from Signal Delivery.  He was a member of the Teamsters Local 7, the St. Joseph Elks and Grace Lutheran Church, and dedicated eleven years to the Senior Volunteer Patrol.  Everett enjoyed golfing, was an avid western movie fan, loved traveling in his motor homes and always looked forward to Lockman’s annual Christmas Party.  He enjoyed watching the hummingbirds, making friends where ever he traveled and most of all, he enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Linda; sons Matthew (Julie) Schemenauer of Kalamazoo and Michael J (Kelly) Schemenauer of Benton Harbor; grandchildren Cole and Reid Schemenauer of Kalamazoo and Lisa (John) Utter of Sister Lakes; sisters Mary Paully and Ellen Sherman of Arizona; brothers Gerald (Brigitte) Schemenauer of Germany, George (Nancy) Schemenauer of Coloma and Luke (Becky) Schemenauer of Bangor; numerous nieces and nephews. Everett was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bernard Schemenauer and his faithful dog KC.
