Robert's Obituary
Robert R. Redderoth, 89, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Memorials may be made in honor of Robert to the American Diabetes Association. Those wishing to share a memory of Bob may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com.
Robert was born on February 25, 1925 to Rudolph and Thusa (Somers) Redderoth in Montclair, New Jersey. In 1943, he began serving in the Army Air Corps-9th Air Force in England, France, Belgium and Germany during World War II. During his time in the Army he received four battle stars. In 1945, he moved to Fulton, New York and began working for Burton & Loomis, Inc. as secretary & treasurer of the corporation. Robert joined Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in 1952 as a sales representative. In 1959, he became T.B.A. manager of the New York region for Atlantic Richfield Co. (ARCO) until he retired in 1985. An avid golfer, Bob looked forward to his weekly golf group through his 89 years of life.
Robert was a Master Mason for 57 years. He also was the former trustee of the First Presbyterian Church in Syracuse, NY and president of the ARCO retiree group for the New York Region from 1985-1995.
Robert is survived by his two daughters Wendy (Ken) Edwards of St. Joseph, MI and Robin (Wallace) Young of Liverpool, NY; five grandchildren: Abbey (Jason) Gialenes of Virginia Beach, VA, Jamie Young of Virginia Beach, VA, David Edwards of Chicago, IL, Jordan Edwards of St. Joseph, MI and Kate Edwards of Chicago, IL; one great-grandchild Carlye Gialenes; one sister Dorothy Pesco of Moneta, VA; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to mention.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife Carlye (Bennett) Redderoth after 58 years of a wonderful life together, his brother Richard Redderoth and sister Lois Turner.
Bob will be remembered as a loyal friend, an intent listener, an unforgettable storyteller and an irreplaceable light in the many lives he touched.
