Charles Clayton Cook

Charles “Chuck” C. Cook, 85, of Stevensville, MI passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 A.M. , Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Burial to follow at Spring Run Cemetery. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, February 2, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice. Those wishing to sign Chuck’s guestbook may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com. Chuck was born May 16, 1929 in Benton Harbor, MI to Emery & Rose (Hosbein)Cook. He was a graduate of St. John’s High School in 1947. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force from 1950 until he was honorably discharged on Labor Day 1953. On February 24, 1951 he wed Nancy Patzkowsky at St. John’s Church in Benton Harbor. Chuck worked at Roe Printing for 19 years doing page set-up, he also worked many carpentry jobs over the years as well. He enjoyed wood working, especially making items for his kids, his home and 4H. Chuck was a member of the Southwest Michigan Stamp Club for many years. He was involved in coaching little league and Babe Ruth league, something he enjoyed greatly. He is survived by his loving wife Nancy of 63 years, children Linda (Randall) Eding of South Haven, Daniel (Donna) Cook of Stafford, VA, and Sherrie (Michael) Duffy of Benton Harbor; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister Donna Thomas of Stevensville; brothers Thomas (Joan) Cook of Holiday, FL, Ray Cook of Benton Harbor, Donald (Debbie) Cook of Benton Harbor, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers James Cook and Timothy Cook, and sister Thelma Cook.
