Zula's Obituary

Zula Ignatovich, 87, of St. Joseph, Michigan, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman, Michigan. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church located at 404 E. Glenlord Rd., St. Joseph, MI  49085 with Rev. Glenn Rosenbaum officiating.   Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, January 7 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI 49085.  Memorial donations may be made to Hospice at Woodland Terrace, 8850 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman, MI 49106. Those wishing to sign Zula’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Zula was born December 28, 1927 in Notasulga, Alabama to Jim and Belle (Small) Muneke.  She married Walter C. Ignatovich on December 19, 1947 in Montgomery, Alabama.  Zula was crowned Homecoming Queen 1944 in Tallassee, Alabama and was employed as an administrative assistant at the Alabama Governor’s Office from 1945 to 1950, and later as an auditor for Sears and St. Joseph Savings and Loan. She enjoyed golfing, reading, crafts and vacations in Florida. Zula is survived by her husband Walter Ignatovich; daughters Suzanne (Ted) Curro  of Grand Rapids, MI, Carol Ann (Glenn) Guest of Atlanta, GA; Grandchildren Benjamin (Katie) Powell of Chicago, IL, George (Danica) Powell of Ann Arbor, MI, David (Katie) Powell of Grand Rapids, Matt (Marcella) Mazurkiewicz of Atlanta, GA and Tina (Travis) Speece of Indiana and 4 Great-Grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Belle Muneke.
