Ruby Nye

Ruby Nye, 97, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, MI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, January 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Arden United Methodist Church located at 6891 M-139, Berrien Springs with Rev. O’Ryan Rickard officiating.  Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Spring Run Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Starks and Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph.  Memorial contributions may be made to Arden United Methodist Church or Berrien County Youth Fair.  Those wishing to sign Ruby’s guestbook may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com Ruby was born February 3, 1917 in Baroda, Michigan to Frederick & Daisy (Strong) Kugle.  She married Ben Nye in November, 1938. Ruby worked alongside her husband on the farm and supported Berrien County Youth Fair.  She took great pride in raising their four sons.  Ruby enjoyed reading, her involvement with the church and especially time with her grandchildren. Ruby was survived by her sons Mark (Charlee) Nye of Stevensville and Ken (Brenda) Nye of DeWitt, Michigan; three brothers; one sister; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben, parents, two sons, two brothers and two sisters.
