Elwyn Davon Houseworth, 94 of St. Joseph passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at his residence.

Elwyn was born July 24, 1920 in Bridgman, MI to George and Lillian (Shinn) Houseworth. He served in the US Army during World War II. After he was honorably discharged from the service, Elwyn worked for the state of Michigan as a heavy equipment operator from 1947 to 1978, when he retired. On July 20, 1957 he married the former Janet Peil in South Bend, IN. In Elwyn’s spare time he enjoyed staying busy with yard work and tinkering around in his garage.
Elwyn is survived by his wife Janet of St. Joseph, his children- Terry (Karen) Houseworth of Norman, OK, Jeffery A. Houseworth of St. Joseph, Sherrie (Gordy) LeFevre of Lawrence, MI, Jill (Patrick) Kennedy of St. Joseph, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a sister Arbutus Blaylock of Buchanan, MI. He is preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters Violet Neidlinger and Donnabelle Saunders.
