Helmuth E. Huber, 98, of Benton Harbor, MI went to be with the Lord he loved Thursday, January 1, 2015 at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at First Assembly of God, 3084 Niles Rd. with Rev. Daniel Miller & Pastor Doug Hoyh officiating. Burial to follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, January 5, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Helmuth was born December 20, 1916 in Carson, ND to Jacob & Sophie (Sauter) Huber. He spent his early years farming in North Dakota before moving to Benton Harbor. He wed Lydia Will on December 28, 1943 in New Leipzig, N.D. Helmuth was a factory worker at Whirlpool for 34 years before retiring. He was a member of First Assembly of God and enjoyed attending the Senior Group. He loved vegetable gardening and giving vegetables to his senior friends, and watching the turkey and deer in his backyard. Until recently Helmuth was very active and busy.
Helmuth is survived by his children Virgil (Linda) Huber, Carol (Gordon) Snell, Joyce (Bill) Rodriguez and Dwight (Debra) Huber; his biological grandchildren Anne Parpas, Michael Snell, Dawn Hernandez, Angela Charvat and Courtney Huber; his adopted grandchildren Chris, Austin, Ray, Jasmine, Mercedes, Camryn, Cody and Jacob Rodriguez; siblings Freida Diehl, Ella Rieger, Elmer (Delores) Huber, Wilbert (Bernece) Huber and his special friend Dorothy Grinewitzki.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 51 years, his brothers Theodore, Carl and Edwin Huber, and sisters Edna Lutz and Lydia Berreth.
