Ruby M. Clark, 90, of St. Joseph, formerly of Stevensville, passed away, Friday, January 9, 2015 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland.
A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 16, 2015 at Lakeshore Christian Church, 5665 Washington Ave., St. Joseph, with Pastor Walter McCutcheon, Sr., officiating. Burial will follow a luncheon held at the Church following the Celebration Service. Burial will be at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Lakeshore Christian Church or Hospice at Home. Ruby was born November 3, 1924 in Martel Tully Township, Ohio to Elza & Iva Marie (Winters) Sharrock. On December 6, 1941 she married Robert D Clark in South Bend, Indiana. She was employed as a bookkeeper at Coca Cola Corporation in St. Joseph from 1960 to 1982. Ruby was an active member of Lakeshore Christian Church where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and attended Women’s Bible Study. In her retirement, Ruby & Bob traveled the United States extensively in their motorhome until settling into a winter home in Avon Park Florida for fourteen years. Ruby was a Volunteer for Hospice at Home, was always interested in helping others, and enjoyed the time spent with her family, especially her grand & great-grandchildren.
Ruby is survived by two daughters-Lois (Garry) Quay of St. Joseph, Gloria (Edwin) Smith of St. Joseph; four grandchildren-Kimberly (Randy) Benedict of Fort Worth, TX, Debra (Ken) Freundt of Chesterton, IN, Dr. Robert (Heidi) Smith of Clarkston, MI, Jeffrey (Carrie) Smith of Fishers, IN; nine great-grandchildren-Ashley, Andrew, Alex, Aaron, Anna, Emily, Skylar, Josiah, & Kelita. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister, and her husband Robert on August 6, 2014.
