Katherine C. Jager

Katherine C. Jager, 82, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., with Rev. Jim Whitman officiating. Friends may visit Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial at Rest Lawn Cemetery in Grand Rapids will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to Berrien County Baptist Church. Those wishing to share a memory of Katherine may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com Katherine was born November 30, 1932 Traverse City, MI to Leslie & Ivah (Carroll) Gore.  She received her nursing degree and went onto work as a registered nurse in many hospitals in the Grand Rapids and Lansing area over the years. She wed Lee Jager. Katherine loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Berrien County Baptist Church, and in her spare time she enjoyed fishing, shopping, and many kinds of chocolate and ice cream. Katherine is survived by her daughter Kathy (Wayne) Miller of  St. Joseph; daughter-in-law  Simoia Agler of Lansing, MI; grandchildren Ben Miller of St. Joseph, Brandon Jager and Lee Jager both of Lansing and Jacob Miller of FL; siblings Leland (Nan) Gore of FL, Ina (Tom) Strain of FL and Jackie (Roger) Visser of VA. Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, son Louis Lee Jager, and siblings Glenna, Gloria, Les and Cortland.
