Jennifer's Obituary
Jennifer Hynd-Barrett, 66, of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014 at her home.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Jennifer was born on July 20, 1948 in Benton Harbor, MI to Robert and Doris (Fryer) Hynd. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1967 and continued her education at Albion College and Michigan State University graduating with a masters in Reading Education. Jennifer taught reading in elementary education for 12 years at Coloma and Benton Harbor Schools. She was a member of the P.E.O. (Philanthropic Education Organization) supporting studies for women. She loved teaching and was an avid reader. Despite whatever challenges she faced, Jennifer always had a positive attitude and smile.
Jennifer is survived by her brother Dr. Robert “Bob” (Dr. Susan Edwards) Hynd. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband William “Bill” Barrett.
