Gordon L. Kilgore, 76, of Stevensville, MI, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Stevensville United Methodist Church, 5506 Ridge Rd., Stevensville, with Rev. Gordon Barry officiating. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Church. Burial will take place at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service in St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home, Salvation Army, or Stevensville United Methodist Church. Gordon was born March 31, 1938 in Pittsburgh, PA to Lee and Ellen (Connor) Kilgore. He married Janet Bryan on August 29, 1959 in Pittsburgh, PA. Gordon earned a Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Tech. Gordon was employed with CQS Innovation in Benton Harbor, and retired as President in December of 2013. He was an active member of Stevensville United Methodist Church devoting much of his time to working with the youth. Gordon loved spending time with his children and especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed anything involving tractors and cars, and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Gordon is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet Kilgore; sons, Timothy (Joyce) Kilgore of Concord, NC and Jeffrey Kilgore of Melbourne, FL; daughter, Jana (Patrick Bremser) Kilgore of Santa Cruz, CA; grandchildren, Spencer (Hannah) Kilgore, Lindsay Kilgore, Jordan Kilgore, and Joshua Kilgore; great-grandson, Travis Kilgore; sisters, Nancy (Edward) Rice of Rochester Hills, MI, and Susan (Tom) Aoki of Sacramento, CA; and sister-in-law, Nancy Kilgore of Boston, MA.
Gordon was preceded by his parents and brother, Robert Kilgore.
