Ruth E. Talaska

Ruth Eleanor Talaska, 92, of Benton Harbor, passed away November 23, 2014 in South Haven. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, November 28, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. with Rev. David Hasse of Riverside United Methodist Church officiating. Burial to follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit from noon until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. Ruth was born August 2, 1922 to Gustav & Olga (Becker) Demske in St. Joseph. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1940. In 1946 Ruth married the love of her life, Jerome Talaska, in Kalamazoo. They were happily married until Jerome’s passing in 1988. In the later years of her life, Ruth loved to be a homemaker and spent her life based on kindness towards people she knew. Ruth is survived by her son Bruce Talaska of Coloma and her brother Herbert Demske of Benton Harbor. She is preceded in death by her parents Gustav & Olga; husband Jerry Talaska; and siblings Robert Demske, James Demske, Hildegard Demske & Betty Demske.
