Dorothy Jean McNeil

Dorothy Jean McNeil, 81, of St. Joseph, passed away, Sunday, October 19, 2014 Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville. Dorothy was born November 9, 1932 in South Haven to Ira & Lottie (Ingram) Hoag.  She graduated from South Haven High School in 1951.  On October 2, 1954, she married Terry McNeil in South Haven.  She and Terry just celebrated 60 years of marriage.  Dorothy was a stay at home mom who dedicated her life to her family.  She enjoyed knitting, playing the organ, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Dorothy had a great love for cats which earned her the title of “Kitty Gram” from her grandchildren and many others. Dorothy is survived by her husband Terry; two sons-David McNeil of St. Joseph, Steve (Jody) McNeil of Spring Lake, MI; five grandchildren-Nathan McNeil, Gennette McNeil, Jessica (Cole) McClain, Kari (Kevin Graham) McNeil, Maghan (Ethan) LeVeck; three great-grandchildren-Nova & Tara McNeil & Brooklynn LeVeck; her brother Clyde (JoAnn) Hoag of South Haven; and numerous niece & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers-Gordon, Floyd, & Howard Hoag.
