Melody Sue Reth, 48, of Benton Harbor, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville, Michigan.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, October 24, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, October 24, 2014 beginning at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family or Hanson Hospice Center. Melody was born on December 22, 1965 in St. Joseph, Michigan to George and Martha (Burgess) Reth and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1985. She was employed in St. Joseph as a cashier at the BP gas station and as a waitress at Pier III, she also worked for Hoffman Die Cast. Melody enjoyed folk art, bike riding, and was an avid coffee drinker. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Melody is survived by her husband in the eyes of God Edward Cottrell; children: Kendall E.W. Cottrell of Benton Harbor, Zachery Q. (Fiancé Nikki Moreno) Reth of Benton Harbor, Sally R. Cottrell of Coloma, and Naomi Marie Cottrell of Coloma; grandchildren: Levi White, Caden Cottrell, and Kylee Cottrell. She is also survived by her brother Michael Reth of Spokane, Washington and nephew & niece-Jacob & Nicole Reth.
Melody was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter Jasmine Marie Reth.
