David Gene Rodgers

David G. Rodgers, 79, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Westwoods of Bridgman.   David was born September 22, 1935 in Leachville, Arkansas to Marshall & Lora Dee (Clifton) Rodgers. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955. On August 24, 1957 he wed Margaret Cortson in Benton Harbor. David worked as a city worker for Coloma Public Works for 19 years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.   He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Margaret; sons Dave (Joy) Rodgers of Macomb Twp., Don (Dianna) Rodgers of Watervliet Twp., and Jim (Teresa ) Rodgers of Sodus; grandchildren Alissa, Amber, Tom, Nick, Heather (Dave) Morin and Brandon Rodgers; brothers Bobby Dean Rodgers and Vaughn Ray Rodgers; and his much appreciated Westwoods family who was a great help to David and Margaret.   He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Melvin Rodgers and sister Kathleen Easley.   A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
