Florence Hendrix

Florence Hendrix, 86, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Willows in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, October 3, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 619 Market St. in St. Joseph with Pastor Thomas Batsky officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Starks and Menchinger Chapel  & Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Florence was born November 1, 1927 in St. Joseph, MI to Max & Augusta (Berndt) Haase.  On February 14, 1948, Florence married Robert L. Hendrix in St. Joseph, MI.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.  Florence was a homemaker who kept a busy schedule caring for her family. She was a good friend and companion and loved spending time with her great-grandson Ryan. Florence is survived by her son Doug R. (Darlene) Hendrix of St. Joseph; granddaughter Tiffeny (Cory) Buist and one great-grandson Ryan Buist.  Florence was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert in 1992;  brother Russell Haase; sisters Irene Chapman, Marie Bergstrom, Gertrude Mach and Maxine Jaffke; step-sister Gladys Dwel  and step-brothers Russell Hendrix and Leland Hendrix.
