Adeline “GGma” Emery, 91, of St. Joseph, passed away, Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
Celebration of Life Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Phil Bubar officiating. Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery, Benton Harbor. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service beginning at Noon Wednesday. Adeline was born January 31, 1923 in Benton Harbor, the daughter of Adam & Alice (Baier) Jonas. She was united in marriage on January 5, 1946 to Harvey Emery in Benton Harbor. Her marriage was a living example of two becoming one; her partnership with Harvey remains an encouragement to all who long for eternal love. Their faith in God was the center of their marriage, a rock that prevailed against many a storm. The joy they derived from each others company was tangible; the devotion they shared spelled out to those around them. Adeline will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She lived her life with a passion for family, God and road trips. She and Harvey have visited all 50 states and Canada.
Adeline is survived by her husband Harvey; two daughters-Susan (Frank) Zieche of Aurora, IL, Joyce (Paul) Pschigoda of Stevensville; five grandchildren-Jennifer (Jeff) Baldwin, Robin (Bob) Adams, Holly (Rob) McFadden, Julie Huddleston and Laura Huddleston; ten great-grandchildren; special niece Sylvia Lieberg; special nephews Bob (Terry) Taylor and Ron Taylor; her canine buddy Murphy; and her loving family at The Willows. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister& best friend-Frieda Taylor.
