Dorothy Ella Kraklau

Dorothy Ella Kraklau, 96, of St. Joseph passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 28, 2014, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. A private burial will be held at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Morton House.  Those wishing to share a memory of Dorothy online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Dorothy was born March 28, 1918 in St. Joseph, MI, to William & Pauline (Hemmerling) Zwar. On January 6, 1940 she married Henry Kraklau in St. Joseph. Dorothy was a homemaker who kept a busy schedule caring for her family. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, antique collecting and was a member of the Questers Club.  Dorothy is survived by her daughter-in-law Joan Kraklau; grandchildren David Michael Kraklau, Jr., MD (Shayleen), Kelly Kraklau Bosker (Keith), John Eric Kraklau (Sandy Poll) and Kerry Kraklau Campbell (Bradford); great grandchildren, Amelie, Freya Kraklau; Mamata Bosker; Jacob and Alexa Kraklau; Ella, Alexandra and William Campbell; sister Helen Reinhardt; brother Henry (Arbetus) Zwar; sisters-in-law Vera Zwar and Dorothy Grinweitzki; Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son David,  and brothers Frederick & Reinhold Zwar.
