Joe Willie Bogan

Joe Willie Bogan, 85, of St. Joseph, transitioned to his Heavenly Home on Saturday, September 20, 2014. A joy-filled celebration of Joe’s life will be celebrated with family, friends and relatives at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, on Friday, September 26 at 3:00 P.M.  All are welcome to come and share a “Joe story” in a casual, calm and peaceful atmosphere.  Refreshments will follow the memorial service.  Memorials may be made to Our Center for Better Living Christian Church.  Those wishing to sign Joe’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Joe was born July 18, 1929 to the late Rufus and Lula M. (Shurn) Bogan in Wyatt, Missouri.  He was employed as a quality control inspector for the Whirlpool Corporation for nearly 40 years.  He enjoyed many years as a baseball coach, bowler, most any and all kinds of sports and traveling around the world. Joe leaves to cherish his memories-his loving wife of  37 years, Camellia Frye Bogan; sons Jay Bogan and Bryan (Ophelia) Bogan of Long Beach, CA, Michael (Debra) Bogan of Jacksonville, NC, Keith (Judy) Bogan of Chicago, IL and James Frye, Jr. of Coleman, FL; Daughters-Pamela J. Williams of Benton Harbor and Sharon (John) Johnson of Tacoma, WA; a host of grandchildren & great-grandchildren; two brothers-Major Bogan and James (Bernice) Bogan; Godchildren-James (Dolly) Crenshaw, Ira (Catherine) Burton, Patrick (Brunette) Patterson, Cheryl Richardson, Roshonda Richardson, Bridgette Head, Angela (Marty) Price and many, many more Godchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family appreciated Hospice at Home, Hanson Hospice Center, Kunga, Kailee and ALL the many wonderful people who made life so great for Joe.
