Hope Gloria Dean

Hope Gloria Dean, 71, of Baroda, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Building Fund. Those wishing to sign Hope’s guestbook may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com. Hope was born August 16, 1943 in Benton Harbor, MI to Woodrow & Edith (Koebel) McCoy. She was a graduate of Lakeshore High School in Stevensville and went on to graduate from Twin City Beauty College in St. Joseph. Hope spent many years as a Licensed Beautician and Instructor at Twin Cities Beauty College. She retired after almost 15 years of employment with Easy Heat in New Carlisle, IN, as a Shift Leader. Hope was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stevensville and Central County Senior Center in Berrien Springs. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Paul’s, line dancing, bowling and crocheting. Hope cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hope is survived by her son Arthur Hora II of Berrien Springs; grandchildren, Kristina (Bobby) Allen of South Bend, IN, Cassandra Hora of Berrien Springs, and Arthur Hora III of Niles; great grandchildren Breanna Allen, Adreanna Allen, Dakota Allen and William Allen; and sisters, Wanda (Lynn) Nemeth of South Bend and Waneeta (Dennis) Ott of Galien. She is preceded by her parents; first husband, Arthur “Sam” Hora; second husband, Thomas Sweeney; third husband, Billy Dean; and sisters, Merrilee Kruck and Faith VanDyck.
