Barbara Ann Smith

Barbara Ann Smith, 70, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.   A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M., Friday, September 26, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the funeral home. She married Bobby Smith on September 28, 1984 in Benton Harbor. Barbara proudly earned her G.E.D. in 1998. She was employed as a laborer working at Heath Company, Zenith Data Systems, and Empire Mold where she retired after 11 years of service. Barbara was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling. She was dearly loved by her family, friends and her dog, Maggie May.   She is survived by her husband Bobby; sons, Steve (Lisa) Whitfield of Stevensville and Greg Whitfield of Watervliet; step children, Lynette (Lawrence) Berger of Hartford and Bobby (Suzanne) Smith of Paw Paw; grandchildren, Hannah (Andrew) Deja, Breanne Whitfield, Matthew Whitfield, Bryan Smith, Phillip (Emma) Earls and Jessica Earls; great granddaughter, Bella Deja; and sisters, Helen (Ron) Wimberley and Joyce (Phillip) Mills.   She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother.
