Samuel's Obituary

Samuel Alan Stockman, 24, of Saint Joseph, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday September 19th at 1:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd, St. Joseph, officiated by Reverend Terrill Schneider. Burial will take place at Spring Run Cemetery in Saint Joseph at a later date. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, September 18th from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Sam was born on January 14, 1990 in Springfield, Missouri to Daniel and Mary (McCluer) Stockman. He graduated from Lakeshore High School in 2008 where he played basketball and football. After he graduated, Sam played basketball for Concordia University for a year when he then decided to transfer to Lake Michigan College, where he earned his Associates Degree. Knowing his true passion was in farming, Sam enrolled in Michigan State University to further his knowledge in Agribusiness. Once Sam came back home, he focused on his family’s farm, especially his wine grapes and tomatoes. His real dream was to one day build a winery on the family farm. Sam is survived by his grandmother Carol Stockman, his parents, Daniel & Mary Stockman, his sisters, Sarah (Charles) Daubert of Eureka, CA, Grace Elizabeth Stockman and Madeleine Claire Stockman, both of Saint Joseph, Uncle David (Jennifer) Stockman of New York City, NY, Aunt Linda (Les) Cochran of San Carlos Park, FL, Uncle Steve (Robin) Stockman of Leesburg, VA, Uncle Gary (Darlene) Stockman of Port St. Lucie, FL, Aunt Catherine McCluer of Florence, Italy, Aunt Carol McCluer of Tucson, AZ, Uncle John (Lisa) McCluer of Phoenix, AZ, Aunt Nancy (Earl) McShane of Fayetteville, AR, Aunt Melissa (Bradley) Allen of Nixa, MO and numerous cousins, second cousins, and so many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Rufus and Joanne McCluer and Allen Stockman.
