Eileen's Obituary
Eileen U. Jesswein, 93 of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Monday, August 18, at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma with Jonathon Book officiating.
Eileen was born January 20, 1921 in Benton Harbor, MI to Parker and Hazel (Closson) Dukesherer. She was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School. She married Delverne Jesswein on August 20, 1941 in Benton Harbor. Eileen was a busy homemaker and helped run the family refrigeration repair business, while being active as a Girl Scout leader and transporting her children to all of their activities. She was an active member of the former First Baptist Church of Benton Harbor where she was a Sunday School Superintendent of the Primary Department and an active Mother’s Club member. Eileen served the community as a member of BACA and worked on their Crop Walks. She enjoyed completing her daily crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband Delverne in 1991.
Eileen is survived by her daughters Nancy (Bow) Scott of Benton Harbor, Darlene (Jim) Scott of Dimondale, MI; grandson Mike (Angela) Scott of East Lansing; great grandchildren Ainsley, Cian and Aidan; 2 step grandchildren Alan and Steve and 3 step great grandchildren. She was also, survived by special friends Ken, Alice, Mary and Carolyn.
