Carolyn Hurd

Carolyn “Jeanne” Hurd, 76, of Sodus, MI passed away Friday, August 8, 2014 at Royalton Manor in St. Joseph.  A gathering will be held Sunday, August 31st from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM with a memorial service at 1:30 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran School, to support the Tuition Assistance Fund. She graduated from Coloma High School. Jeanne worked as an office manager for many years in the hospitality industry and was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. In her spare time, Jeanne enjoyed tending her beautiful garden and she treasured most the time she shared with her grandchildren.  Jeanne is survived by her children Michael (Sandy) Hurd of Hanover, MD., Lori (Charles) Taylor of Martinsburg, WV., Jeffrey (Sandy) Hurd of Zanesville, OH., and Timothy (Jennifer) Hurd of Chicago, IL; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother Gerald (Carlene) Freier of Benton Harbor; and sister Janice Whitcomb of Stevensville. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Adam Hurd.
