Judi's Obituary

We celebrate the life of Judi Corzine, 73 years young, of Coloma, Michigan who was received into Heaven Thursday, July 31, 2014, in St. Joseph, Michigan. Judi was born in 1941 to Mildred (McCalla) and Roy Rogers.  She was a lifelong resident of the greater St. Joseph – Benton Harbor area. Judi met her first love Dave Hanner cruising the strip in Benton Harbor.  They were married in 1957.  Judi and Dave lived on Red Arrow Highway in Coloma, where Judi was fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom while raising their children and operating their book keeping service out of their home.  Dave passed away in 1980. Judi was blessed to meet the second love of her life, Al Corzine of Benton Harbor, MI, whom she married in 1983. They had 33 wonderful years together.  Judi and Al stayed on Red Arrow Highway enjoying their children, grandchildren and doing taxes together.  Judi was passionate about life.  She enjoyed camping and she definitely enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  Her picnics and parties were legendary (she was a great cook).  She was also known as the best babysitter ever.  She enjoyed going to ceramics with her friends. Along with her husband Al, Judi is survived by her children, Robin (Thomas) Warren of Doniphan, MO; Cindy Gales of Coloma, MI; Shelley (Roger) Mazigian of Coloma, MI; Jessica Hanner of Coloma, MI; and one special child, Terry (Shawn) Lampros of Coloma, MI.  Judi is also survived by her siblings, Joan Cason of Coloma, MI; Janet (Ron) Fortin of Sarasota, FL; Robert (Barbara) Rogers of Bolingbrook, IL; David (Eileen) Rogers of Niles, MI; and Kathy (Buzz) Opick of Granger, IN.  She is further survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren whom created a nickname for Grandma which was MERE; plus numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Also surviving are Al’s 3 children, Debbie (Kenny) Strain, Mark Corzine, and Chris (Kimmie Kay) Corzine. Judi leaves a legacy of consistently being there to help her family and friends.  She always gave more than she received and she always made more food than was needed.  She has joined her parents, her husband Dave, her son Lee Hanner, brother Ricky Rogers and sister Phyllis Clark in Heaven where we are sure she is hosting a party. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday, August 4, 2014 at Midway Baptist Church, 7517 Red Arrow Highway, Watervliet, with Rev. Mark Cowell officiating. Burial to follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma.  Friends may visit Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Memorial contributions may be made to Midway Baptist Church. Those wishing to sign Judi’s guestbook may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com.  Please remember Judi as a wonderful and loving person who cared. She will be missed.
