James “Jim” Miller, 73, of Bridgman, passed away, Monday, August 11, 2014 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, with his family by his side.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 15, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, at Court and Market Streets., St. Joseph, with Pastor Michael J. Roth officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Jim was born May 3, 1941 in Bertha, MN, to Charles & Ella (Ricklefs) Miller. He attended John Marshall High School in Rochester, MN, then joined the Navy. He held positions at Whirlpool Corporation, Modern Plastics and retired from Bosch Automotive. Jim was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, an associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police #96, and a UAW Union member. Jim loved his Minnesota Vikings, Twins and Golden Gophers. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed golfing and grilling out. Jim especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them at their school and sporting events.
Jim is survived by his children, Danny Miller of Minneapolis, MN and Jennifer (Steven) Knuth of St. Joseph; grandchildren Trevor and Erika Knuth; sisters, Louise McCoy of Dowagiac, Joan Dunford of West Bend, WI, and Charlene Jorgensen of Bloomington, MI; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and nine brothers.
