Deborah S. Salvano

Deborah S. Salvano, 48, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family after a seven year battle with brain cancer, Thursday, July 10, 2014. Cremation has taken place. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Wednesday July 23 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph with Fr. Thomas McNally officiating.  Committal services will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Benton Harbor.  Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Deborah was born June 15, 1966 in Elkhart, Indiana to Ronnie & Carol Masters.  On August 14, 1999, she married Scott Salvano in St. Joseph.  Deb was a stay-at-home wife and mother who cherished the time spent with her family.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was active in Scripture Study and RCIA.  Debbie loved watching the sunset, the many birds that came to her feeders and crafting stencils for Stencils Galore. Deb fought a courageous fight with cancer and despite her illness had a positive attitude and happy disposition. She was active in the Rainbows of Hope Support group, an inspiration to all she came in contact with, a true cancer warrior. The joy, spirit and infectious smile she had will be missed by everyone who knew her. Deb is survived by her loving husband-Scott; three daughters-Brittany Trevino of Bridgman; Mia & Abigail Salvano-at home; two grandchildren-Kristyne Schuring & Dominic Perez; her parents-Ronnie & Carol Masters of Bridgman; her brother Alan (Patti) Masters of Bridgman; her in-laws -Gus & Mary Ellen Scheffler of St. Joseph, Bob & Addie Salvano of Salt Springs, Florida; her brother-in-law Bob (Tricia) Salvano of St. Joseph; and many aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews.
