Berneta June Pappalardo

Berneta June Pappalardo, 83, of Watervliet passed away at the Hanson Hospice House in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 6, 2014 at Salem Lutheran Church, 275 Marvin, Coloma MI; officiated by Rev. Andrew Menz. Berneta was born on February 18, 1931 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Peter & Nellie (Stainbrook) Peterson.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards on Tuesdays with special friends and showing off pictures of her grandsons.  She volunteered at Watervliet Community Hospital and had the highest volunteer hours, over 8,893 hours.  That was over 247 hours for every year she volunteered. She is survived by her daughter Pamela (David) Thomas of Fort Gratiot, MI and two grandsons, Tayler and Matthew.  She was preceded in death by her husband Javis Papparlardo. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church or Women’s Auxiliary of Lakeland Hospital in Watervliet.
