Alice Hubbard

Alice M. (Boman) Hubbard, 69, of St. Joseph, MI passed away, Sunday, May 25, 2014 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 6:00 P.M. Friday, May 30, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph with Rev. Jane Logston officiating. Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until the time of service. Alice was born June 14, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA to Ralph & Ruth (Johnston) Boman. She was a graduate of Long Beach Polly High School in 1962. On April 24, 1965 she wed John Hubbard in Long Beach, CA. Alice kept a busy schedule caring for her home and her two children. She was a member of Hinchman United Methodist Church, and a member of the Eastern Stars for 30 plus years where she served several times as Matron of Colonial Chapter 319 in Benton Harbor, and once for Chapter 332 in Niles. Alice was active in charity work and gave generously with both time and money. She was quite family oriented, regarding in-laws as family, and especially like to spend time with her Grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed travel, particularly when it involved spending time with relatives and friends. She traveled to California for the births of her daughter’s 3 children, and to Connecticut a few days after her grandson was born. Alice enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting and playing the piano. She also enjoyed many types of games such as Mahjongg, Pinochle and Bridge. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years John; daughter Heidi (David) Heffron of Drippin Springs, TX; son Michael Hubbard of St. Joseph; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister Bette (William) Kinsley of Indianapolis, IN, numerous cousins, their decedents and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
