Leona Robbins

Leona L. “Bobby” Robbins, 91, of St. Joseph, passed away after a brief illness, Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Royalton Manor, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 6, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glenlord Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Bobby was born December 10, 1922 in Appleton, Wisconsin to John & Mary (Handrow) Hornus.  She was employed at V-M Corporation in Benton Harbor until they closed in 1977. Bobby and her husband Frederick “Fritz” Robbins lived at Round Lake in Sister Lakes until retirement when they moved to Hudson, Florida.  She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Spring Hill, Florida and the Red Hat Society in Hudson.  After moving back to St. Joseph four years ago, she was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, St. Joseph, The OWLS, and the St. Joseph-Lincoln Senior Center where she enjoyed bingo, cards, and crafts. Bobby is survived by her sister Doris Schultz of St. Joseph; numerous nieces & nephews, and her canine companion Blackjack.  She was preceded in death by her husband Fritz, her parents, four brothers and four sisters.
