Annie's Obituary

Annie L. Twilley, 75, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Monday, May 12, 2014 at her home. A Celebration of Homegoing Service will be held 11:30 A.M. Saturday at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 245 Pipestone Rd., Benton Harbor, with Rev. James O. Childs officiating.  Friends may visit beginning at 10:30 A.M. Annie was born May 15, 1938 in Hughes, Arkansas to Virgil & Mamie (Thomas) Doss.  On January 28, 1977, she married Leo Twilley in Benton Harbor.  Annie was employed at Wilderness Foods in Sodus and most recently at Peoples Savings Association, but her main focus was caring for her family.  She enjoyed fishing, vacationing, cooking, and family time, especially with her grandchildren. Annie is survived by her husband Leo; her daughter Nita (Arnold) Byrd of Benton Harbor;  her adopted children-Sharonda Jenkins of Benton Harbor, Tracy Doss of Benton Harbor, Anita Patton of South Bend, IN, Terrance Patton of Kalamazoo; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; her brother Roy (Georgia) Doss of Carbondale, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, & extended family, & friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Ruth Doss, three brothers-Bennie, Virgil, Jr & Burnett Doss, and her son Cleotis Jenkins in 1987.
