Eleanor's Obituary

Eleanor Kietzer, 99, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at her residence Woodland Terrace in Bridgman, MI.  A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph Rev. Dr. Christopher Noffke officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date a Lincoln Township Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home or Zion United Church of Christ Baroda. Those wishing to share a memory of Eleanor online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com  Eleanor was born April 3, 1915 in Bainbridge, MI to Fred & Augusta (Schmaltz) Hasse. On February 15, 1936 she married Sylvester Kietzer in Benton Harbor. Eleanor worked for Whirlpool for 36 years. Eleanor enjoyed her family, many friends and all her wonderful care givers at Woodland Terrace and from Hospice.  Eleanor is survived by her son David (Nancy) Kietzer of Stevensville, MI; daughter Kay (Mel) McKee of Surprise, AZ; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, husband Sylvester “Sam” in 1996, and children Lannie Kietzer in 1976 & Wayne Kietzer in 2011 and two grandchildren.
