Frank Grabowski

Frank D. Grabowski, 68, of Stevensville, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014, surrounded by family at his home. Frank was born January 22, 1946, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. He graduated from St. Joe High School in 1964. He married Jeanne Dyer of Decatur on May 4, 1968 at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in St. Joseph. Frank worked for 32 years at Jewel Food Stores as Produce Manager. He enjoyed a short break before working for Shoemaker Heating and Supply Company until his retirement.  He also served his Country in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. Frank loved working in his yard and garden, home remodeling projects, traveling, and especially loved time with his family and grandchildren. Frank is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jeanne Grabowski; son, Brian (Yukiko Takeuchi) Grabowski of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter Holly (John) Dornbush of Grand Ledge; grandchildren Taro and Yumi Grabowski, Miles David and Julian Roman Dornbush; brothers John (Ginger) Grabowski, Roman “Dean” (Kathy) Grabowski, Chuck (Shirley) Grabowski, and Richard (Donna) Grabowski; sister Dorothy (Bill) Schiffbauer; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Anna (Faraone) Grabowski; stepmother, Geneva (Harner) Grabowski; sisters, Elaine Grabowski, Mary Ann (Gene) Rudel; and brother Joseph (Carolyn) Grabowski. A memorial service will take place Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 10:00 am at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph with Chaplin Scott Brown officiating. In memoriam donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Hospice at Home of Michigan and the Shriners Hospital for Children.
