David Paul Klann

David P. Klann, 53, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, MI. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Monday, April 28, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. David was born March 17, 1961 in St. Joseph, MI to Paul & Marilyn (Stromberg) Klann. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1979. David worked as a mechanic all his life starting at Paul’s Shell station in St. Joseph; over the past 10 years he worked for Benton Harbor Area Schools as a mechanic and maintenance technician. He was a longtime member of the Elks club and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, photography and riding his motorcycle. David is survived by his mother Marilyn Klann of St. Joseph; daughter Samantha (William “Bill”) Ashley of Benton Harbor; son Mitch Klann of St. Louis, MO, and sister Beth Ellen Kalin of St. Joseph. He was preceded in death by his father Paul  in 2005.
