Dee's Obituary

Dee Hickmott, 78, of Coloma, passed away, Saturday, April 19, 2014 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 4:00 P.M. Wednesday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Brett Ehlke officiating.  Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Dee was born December 13, 1935 in Watervliet to Ivan & Edith (Hiler) Hickmott.  He graduated from Benton Harbor High School Class of 1953.  Dee retired from the Local Painter’s Union of Benton Harbor in 1996, and over the years has owned several bars in the area, most recently, Stevensville Station.  In his free time, Dee enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson touring the country, tending to his tomato garden, and making wine. Dee is survived by his children-Sid Hickmott of Caledonia, MI, Rhonda (Achille) Epifani of Houston, TX, Kelly (Art) Jones of Stevensville; three grandchildren-Tracy & Kelly Hickmott, Josh Hickmon; two great-grandchildren-Landon & Jo Jo; three brothers-Ivan (Doris) Hickmott of Watervliet, LeRoy Hickmott of Decatur, MI, Max (Ruby) Hickmott of Watervilet; numerous nieces & nephews; and his companion Cherrie Hickmon.  He was preceded in death by two brothers and an infant sister, and will truly missed and loved by all.
