Aimee's Obituary
Aimee Dawn Sims age 44, passed away on February 27, 2014 in Grand Island Florida. Aimee had fought a long and courageous battle with cancer and will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. Aimee was born January 27, 1970 in St. Joseph Michigan, graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1988 and continued to study computer animated design and graphic arts. She was a self-employed graphic artist.
Aimee was the mother of two beautiful children, Holli and Zach Lockwitz, who survive her. Aimee is also survived by her mother Diane Sorce and stepfather Izzy Sorce, her father, Ken Sims and stepmother Cherie Copelin, brother Noel Sims and sister-in-law Kristine Sims, and grandmother Bertha Louise Sims along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Aimee will be remembered for her positive attitude in the face of so much pain and suffering, her love of beauty, art, and family. She was extremely creative and became a strong advocate for natural foods, trying many new recipes and whole food combinations. She was able to beat the odds for many years by focusing on eating the right nutrition. Aimee loved the water and the treasures that would wash up on shore. Her beach walks were mini adventures and therapeutic for her and those who accompanied her.
She was a beautiful person whose time came much too soon. We hope that she is now in the loving arms of those who have gone before her. Aimee we will all miss you very much!
