Jyoti Kulkarni

Jyoti Kulkarni, 40, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.   Visitation for friends begins at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 14, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M at the funeral home. On June 20, 2002 she married Nitin N. Sawant in Baltimore City. Jyoti was in the oral defense phase in pursuit of Ph.D. in Energy and Environmental Policy from the University of Delaware. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, cooking, painting, photography, travelling, adventure, recreational tennis, hiking and biking.    Jyoti is survived by her husband Nitin Sawant of St. Joseph; mother Kusum Kulkarni of India; and brother Alok (Rinita) Shashikant of India. Jyoti was preceded in death by her father Shashikant.   The family of Sawant and Kulkarni wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the community of St Joseph, MI.
