Lucille A. Schultz, 99, of St. Joseph, passed away, February 7, 2014 at Caretel Inns where she made her home for the last 4 years. She was born April 16, 1914 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Gustav and Wanda Stach. Lucille married Paul B. Schultz in St. Joseph on November 23, 1935. He preceded her in death in 1997. Lucille worked at Grant’s Department Store in St. Joseph and later for many years at Whirlpool Corporation in the shipping department.
Lucille was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, where services will be held 11:30 A.M. Monday, February 10 with Pastors Cathi Braasch and Ronald Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the Church. Cremation has taken place. Burial will follow at a later date at Riverview Cemetery. Lucille is survived by a son Robert (Carol) Schultz of Bridgman; a daughter Norma (Richard) Carpenter of St. Joseph; five grandchildren-Steven Schultz, Karen Schott, Sara Poe, Mark Carpenter and David Carpenter; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces & a nephew; brothers-in-law Edward Schultz and Charles Burns; and the loving caregivers at Caretel and Hospice. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Elsie Ullig and her grandson Paul Schultz. She will always be remembered for that smile.
