Lenord Robert Siewert

Lenord R. Siewert, 93, formerly of St. Joseph, MI, died Sunday Dec. 29, 2013 in Saginaw, MI. Funeral visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am. Friday January 3, 2014 with funeral services Friday at 11:00 am. at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church; Colfax and Kline Benton Harbor, MI. Lenord was born April 13, 1920 to Ernst and Minnie Siewert(Jasper) in Stevensville, MI. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stevensville, MI. He married Helene Ziemer on June 26, 1948. In 1943, Lenord began his military service with the U.S. Army Air Force, finishing his service in 1945 as a commissioned flight officer. After being a MI. State Trooper for several years, Len completed his degree from the University of Michigan in 1951. Most of his adult life he had a successful career as an AAL insurance representative. Helene and Len enjoyed many years of traveling together across the U.S. Lenord was a long time active member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Benton Harbor, MI. He is survived by three daughters; Lenore (Gary) Krug, Michelle (Ronald) Sosinski and Cynthia Siewert; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Helene, two sisters and six brothers. Memorials may be designated to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church or the American Red Cross.
