Kathryn Jane Arend

Kathryn J. (Litke) Arend, 83, of Stevensville, MI, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Baroda Church of God, 5020 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville with Reverend Kendall Holder officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Twp. Cemetery. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Kathryn was born August 13, 1930 in Benton Harbor, MI to James “Bud” & Emily (Kridler) Harris. She attended Bard School in Benton Harbor. Kathryn kept a busy schedule, caring for her home and children. She was a member of Baroda Church of God and enjoyed gathering with her fellow Bard School members at their reunions. Kathryn enjoyed watching the birds in her yard, taking trips to the Dollar Store and spending time with her great-grandchildren. She appreciated her friendly neighbors and all the help they have given her over the years. She is survived by her sons Larry (Joan) Litke of Baroda and Jerry (Elizabeth) Litke of Stevensville; granddaughter Jenifer (Andrew) Moler; step grandchildren Marianna (Sean) Banyon, Suzanne (Mark) Otto, Lindsay (Justin) Coburn, Ellen Scheffler and Erika Scheffler; great grandchildren Jordon, Patrick, Braden, Hannah, Daniel and Christopher and step great grandchildren Kaylee, Candice, Remy, Veda, Lincoln, Shelby, Micah and Eden; brother Richard (Shelia) Harris; and sisters Dorothy Wheeler and Sandy (Bill) DeMorrow and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Lawrence Litke on September 10, 1972, second husband Dale Arend on April 16, 1979 and special companion Sherman Fuller in 2006, granddaughter Heather (Litke) Shannon on July 27, 2012 and brother Jim Harris.
