Dennis Joseph Betts

Dennis Joseph Betts, 70, of St. Joseph, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 16, 2014. Arrangements have been entrusted with Starks & Menchinger Chapel of St. Joseph, MI. Dennis was born January 23, 1943 in Oak Park, IL. He served his country while in the U.S. Marines. Dennis was married to Shirley Ann Kennedy on July 6, 1979. He was a welder by trade and worked with the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local #190. Dennis was a member of the Stevensville American Legion Post #568. Dennis is survived by his wife Shirley; three children-Liana (Ron) Winsauer of Palatine, IL, Rebecca (JJ) Betts of Chicago, IL, and Derek (Kate) Betts of Grand Rapids, MI; five grandchildren; a sister-Linda (Sonny) Alsvig of Tempe, AZ; and two brothers-Richard Betts of Deming, NM, and Robert (Patricia) Betts of St. Clair Shores, MI. A Celebration of Life service will take place on Monday, January 20, 11:30 A.M., at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI, with Father William Jacobs, Jr. officiating. Visitation precedes the service from 10:00 A.M. til time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stevensville American Legion Post #568.
