Erna's Obituary

Erna Hauch, 94, formerly of Stevensville and Berrien Springs, MI by grace received her Crown of Life from Jesus, her Savior on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. A Celebration of that Life will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 9123 George Ave, Berrien Springs, MI 49103 with Pastors Gary Miller & Douglas Adams officiating. Friends may visit from 3:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran School, Berrien Springs, or the Lutheran School of your choice. Those wishing to sign Erna’s guestbook may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com. Erna was born in 1919 in Manitoba, Canada to Robert & Elizabeth. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in 1937. On June 11, 1943 she married John Hauch in Breckenridge, KY. Erna kept a busy schedule caring for her home and her family. She worked part time at Dr. Baggerly’s office in Stevensville, as well as running her own business as a seamstress. Erna was a member of the Berrien County Sportsman Club for over 50 years where she enjoyed archery. She was an active member at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stevensville and Trinity Lutheran Church in Berrien Springs. She is survived by her daughter Darlene (Gary) Miller of Sheridan, IN; son Daniel Hauch of Traverse City, MI; grandchildren Kenneth Miller, Benjamin (Angela) Miller, Erin Hauch, Katherine Hauch, Wilbert Hauch and Matthew (Sarah) Hauch; great grandchildren Julia, Katherine, Ella, Samuel and Elijah and brother Theodore Buchholtz in Lake Elmo MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband John in 1977, son Darrel Hauch in 2008, sister Minnie Hanson and brothers Walter Buchholtz and Arthur Buchholtz.
