Douglas “Doug” Snyder, 66, of Berrien Springs, MI went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 11, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph with Pastor Kevin Parkins officiating. Burial will follow at Long Lake Cemetery. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, November 15, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home. Doug was a man of faith born May 20, 1947 in Benton Harbor, MI to Dale & Leon (Elliot) Snyder. He graduated from Berrien Springs High School in 1965. Doug served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969. On July 26, 1992 he married Suzanne Anderson (Albrecht) in Holland, MI. Doug worked for Clark Equipment for many years and also worked over 20 years at Ausco Products. He was a member of the Michiana Two Cylinder Club, the South Haven Fly Wheelers, and the House of David Echoes Baseball Team. Doug had a strong Christian faith and loved fixing things, making vintage baseballs, hunting, fishing and smashed pennies.
Doug is survived by his wife Suzanne, children Chris Snyder, Mark (Jenna) Snyder, Kimberly (Paul) Pearison, and Tony (Faith) Anderson; five grandchildren Gabrielle, Tyler, Kaitlin, MaKenna and Westin; great granddaughter, Mailee; mother Leon Snyder; siblings Suann (Duane) Gulliver and Mike (Anne) Snyder. Doug was preceded in death by his father, Dale.
