Loretta Frances Brauenig

Loretta Frances Brauenig, 97, formerly of Chicago, IL passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman, MI. Loretta was born September 3, 1916 in Chicago, IL to William & Nellie (Sheehan) Lynch. On February 19, 1955 she wed Eugene “Gene” Brauenig in Chicago, IL where they resided for many years. She worked as a secretary for Montgomery Ward for 35 years before her retirement. Loretta later lived in Niles, IL and spent her final years in Bridgman, MI at Woodland Terrace. She had a gentle heart and will be remembered for her sense of humor, her love for people and her kindness and generosity. Loretta had a very special way with animals. Dogs especially loved her as much as she loved them. She was a thoughtful woman to the end of her long courageous life. Loretta leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and numerous great and great grand nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Edith Braeunig. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Gene, brothers and sisters-in-laws William (Geraldine) Lynch, Thomas (Agnes) Lynch, John(Caroline) Lynch, Joseph (Eleanor) Lynch, sister and brother-in-law Helen (William) Roberts. Loretta will be cremated and inurned at Ridgewood Cemetery, 9900 North Milwaukee Ave., Des Plaines on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 12:00 P.M.
