Robert Kietzerow

Robert “Bob” Kietzerow, 72, of Bridgman, MI passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 P.M. Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Thomas Batsky officiating. Friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date at Fort Custer Cemetery in Battle Creek. Memorials may be made to the Stevensville American Legion. Bob was born July 13, 1941 in St. Joseph, MI to Eric & Anna (Adler) Kietzerow and was proud of the fact that he was one of St. Joseph’s “Sand Rabbits”. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1961. Bob served his country in the United States Army. On September 16, 1995 he married Glenna at St. Peter’s Church in St. Joseph. Bob worked for Canteen in St. Joseph for over 25 years he also worked for the City of St. Joseph Parks Department for 10 years. Bob was a member of the Stevensville American Legion for 38 years. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling, telling stories and most of all spending time with his family especially the grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his son Eric Kietzerow in 2007 and parents. Bob is survived by the love of his life Glenna Kietzerow of Bridgman; sons Michael (Jill) Hamann of South Lyon, MI and Tony (Tracy) Hamann of Coloma; grandchildren Anna and Rachel Kietzerow, Rachel (Jacob) Poff, and Justin, Alex, and Katie Hamann; great granddaughter Ava; siblings Gloria Muth of St. Joseph, Betty (Jim) Essig of Stevensville, Ann (LeeRoy) Stelter of St. Joseph, Bill (Becky) Kietzerow of St. Joseph; nephews & nieces Mike (Jeri) Essig, David (Julie) Essig, Brian (Jenna) Kietzerow, Stephen (Kristin) Kietzerow, Rebecca (Rick) Wynegar, Scott Stelter, Teresa Mysliwy and Jerold (Diane) Muth. Bob loved his family and friends deeply and was a blessing to all who knew him.
