Margaret Wagner Starbuck

Margaret “Babe” Wagner Starbuck, 90, of Benton Harbor, passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 at Royalton Manor in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:30 AM, December 23, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Richard Sing officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family Sunday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel. Margaret was born August 2, 1923 in St. Joseph to William and Agnes (Langer) Kaatz. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1942. She married Leonard Wagner, Sr. on February 20,1943 in st. Joseph before he went to war. After Leonard’s death in July 14, 1972, Margaret again found happiness when she married Clifford Starbuck in November 1972. Margaret worked at Emlong’s Nursery for over 40 years and retired in 1989. Margaret attended Twelve Corners Community Church and the Stevensville American Legion Post #568 where she was a past president of the Ladies Auxillary. Margaret enjoyed traveling, camping and watching fighting Irish football team. Margaret is survived by her children Evelyn (Ronald) Lambrecht, Leonard (Kim) Wagner, Jr., Robert (Teresa) Wagner, and Robin (Anthony) Serdel; step-daughter-in-law Lorene Starbuck; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Leonard Wagner, Sr., and Clifford Starbuck, daughters, Beverly Fortson and Leona Wagner; stepsons, Leo, Jack, and Hack Starbuck; stepdaughter Mary Drury; and siblings Leo Lynch and Catherine Wagner.
