Kathleen's Obituary
Kathleen Lenore Dettman, 64, of Benton Township, passed away, Saturday, October 19, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Kathleen was born November 12, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska to Fred & Julaine Simmons, Jr. On January 6, 1968, she married Donald Duane Dettman in St. Joseph, Michigan. Kathleen devoted her life to caring for her family. In her free time, she enjoyed golfing and painting.
Kathleen is survived by her husband Donald; two daughters-Melissa Christine Dettman of Benton Township, Tracy Lynn Dettman of Bridgman; her grandson Logan Kenneth Dettman-Roe; her brother Fred W. (Mary Ellen) Simmons of Omaha; two sisters-Kristine Marie Simmons of Omaha and Linda (Dennis) Simmons-Long of Livingston, CA; and several loving nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Celebration of Life Services will be held 11:30 A.M. Wednesday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marie Yeager Cancer Center.
